Cepeda Baseball has built a new website for our Annual Caribbean Classic tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This event has flourished into its 3rd year and it's now becoming a national event attended by players and teams from across the country.
*Highlights from Cepeda 12U's recent championship game vs NorCal Valley 13U. The boys competed to the end, coming back from a seven run deficit in the first inning to a final 7-6 defeat by the the 13U Majors team.
Cepeda Baseball is looking to add a few talented players to our 12U Majors team, which Got 'Em Baseball recently ranked No. 6 in Nor Cal, noting: "Cepeda is a team on the rise."
We want you to be a part of that rise. Our goal is to develop these boys for the next level of baseball: High School, then college. Head Coach Ali Cepeda, who played for the Giants and is son of Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda, is very proud that a few of his 13U players from last year made Varsity and JV in their freshmen years. Assistant coach Jed Greoneweg has played college ball and coached with Ali for a few years. No dad coaches.
With High School in mind, a key aspect of the game Coach Ali is teaching is how to compete -- no matter what team, division, age group... The tournament schedule was designed to challenge the boys by playing mostly Majors in 12U and introducing 13U ball at 12U. Here is the 12U team's upcoming tournament schedule for 2015:
CBC 11U Game 1 / Scrimmage was played today in Suisun. The boys gelled well and did a very good job
Today 2/22 was the new Cepeda 11u boys first competition as a unit and played well. We played up and beat a decent 12u team. Our staff was pleased to see what we have to go to battle with.
It's going to be hard to be satisfied with this group because they have such a high level of talent and willingness to learn that by also applying it, it could be extremely hard to beat us between the lines. We will win some and loose some, but once we become a team, we will be hard to beat on the travel ball circuit. Their development will be maximized by our staff everytime they step between those lines.
TIME TO GO TO WORK BOYS"...I heard one of our players say that and I loved it..

The Talent Showcase team is an exposure aid intended to enhance a prospect’s opportunity to play in college by being evaluated by college coaches. It provides visibility for quality players by enabling them to demonstrate their abilities before coaches and scouts who can make realistic, first hand assessments. The team format (summer) calls for a combination of skills testing, showcase tournaments and games over the two month period, designed to maximize exposure.
This showcase team is an attempt to bring together the better high school players in the Northern California area. Only players who receive invitations or are recommended by coaches and scouts will be participating. Understanding that every player is not a professional prospect or Division I recruit, the program is not restricted to blue-chip athletes. However it is directed toward legitimate prospects who have a reasonable chance of benefiting from it. College coaches from all levels will be present matching their personnel needs with players’ abilities.
Send us your information via the form below to be considered for this team.
WHEN IS THE TRYOUT?
The invitation-only tryouts will take place in mid March at Vanden High School in Fairfield.
